Here at the meraki method (“the meraki method”, “We”, or “Our”), we take privacy seriously. Below you will find details on the information we collect, what we do with it, with whom we share it, and how long we keep it. If you have any questions, please contact us.

This privacy policy has been compiled to better serve those who are concerned with how their 'Personally Identifiable Information' (PII) is being used online. PII, as described in US privacy law and information security, is information that can be used on its own or with other information to identify, contact, or locate a single person, or to identify an individual in context. Please read our privacy policy carefully to get a clear understanding of how we collect, use, protect or otherwise handle your Personally Identifiable Information in accordance with our website. The categories of Personal Information we collect offline will vary, depending on our specific relationship with you, and the context. We treat Personal Information collected on our website or through other electronic communications (including but not limited to through LinkedIn, Pinterest, Email, Text Message, Zoom) as follows:

Personal Information Collected

When inquiring on our site, as appropriate, you may be asked to enter your name, email address or other details to help you with your experience.

I collect information from you when you fill out a form, Use Live Chat or enter information on our site.

I may use the information I collect from you when you inquire, respond to a survey or marketing communication, surf the website, or use certain other site features in the following ways:

       To ask for ratings and reviews of services or products

       To follow up with them after correspondence (live chat, email or phone inquiries)

We operate a range of technical, non-technical and procedural controls to safeguard your Personal Information (including protection against unauthorized or unlawful processing and against accidental loss, destruction or damage). In particular:

We will periodically review and update the adequacy of our methods above as the sensitivity and geographical scope of our services expand. 

The transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we do our best to protect your Personal Information, we cannot guarantee the security of your Information transmitted to our website – and any such transmission is at your own risk. Our website may also, from time to time, contain links to third party websites - which are outside of our control and are not covered by this Notice. If you access other websites using the links provided, please check their privacy policy before submitting any Personal Information to them. 

We do not sell your Personal Information to any other third parties.

Protection

My website is scanned on a regular basis for security holes and known vulnerabilities in order to make your visit to my site as safe as possible. We use regular Malware Scanning.

Your personal information is contained behind secured networks and is only accessible by a limited number of persons who have special access rights to such systems, and are required to keep the information confidential. In addition, all sensitive/credit information you supply is encrypted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology.

I implement a variety of security measures when a user enters, submits, or accesses their information to maintain the safety of your personal information.

All transactions are processed through a gateway provider and are not stored or processed on our servers.

We will share your Personal Information, where appropriate, with our relevant affiliates, contractors, coaches, and staff who may be based in any of our offices. 

We will also at times need to share some of your Personal Information with select third parties, such as:

  • Where disclosure is required by applicable rules and law, or by any court, tribunal, law enforcement, regulatory, public or quasi-governmental authority or department around the world. 

  • Your agents, consultants, other advisers, counterparties, beneficiaries, trustees, banks and related persons, where you ask us to, or as otherwise necessary for the Permitted Purposes.

  • Our agents, consultants and other professionals, suppliers and external agencies/administrators who assist us with legal, administrative, financial, operational and other services, and may have access to certain of your Personal Information as part of their role. These will include, for example: 

  1. IT software, applications and services, including web content management, recruitment and telecommunications services suppliers; website, online portal and client extranet providers;

  2. business continuity/disaster recovery and data back-up providers;

  3. our file storage and management suppliers;

  4. third party due diligence and identity/background verification suppliers;

  5. our banks and other financial providers (such as currency exchange, e-billing and outsourced payroll suppliers);

  6. our insurers, insurance brokers, and lawyers;

  7. our auditors and other professionals engaged for audit purposes;

  8. local lawyers, tax advisors or experts; and

  9. other professional advisors.

Cookies

We rely on our legitimate interest in direct marketing to use your email for marketing purposes.

We will inform you in advance of sending you marketing (unless this is obvious by the circumstances - for example, when you provide us with your business card).

We also participate in affiliate marketing. We work hard to test and find products and services that are relevant to you. You can support the meraki method by purchasing through the links on our website or social media. We appreciate the support and will use the information to improve our services and offerings.

To the extent applicable laws in certain jurisdictions require consent, your provision of Personal Information to us will constitute your consent to such processing where appropriate. Where required, we will also ask you to provide your explicit written consent.

We do not control third parties’ collection or use of your information to serve interest-based advertising. However, these third parties may provide you with ways to choose not to have your information collected or used in this way. You can opt out of receiving targeted ads from members of the Network Advertising Initiative (“NAI”) on the NAI’s website.

We provide all visitors to our site with notice of our cookie collection. We use cookies (small text files placed on your device) and similar technologies on our website and marketing emails to:  

  1. make sure our websites function as they should; and

  2. analyze how our websites and online services are performing (for example to understand how people arrive at and use our website so that we can make it more intuitive); and

If you are concerned about cookies, most web browsers (Safari, Internet Explorer, Chrome, etc.) now recognize when a cookie is offered and allow you to opt-out of receiving it. You can also delete all cookies that are already on your browser. If you choose to do this, you may have to manually adjust some preferences every time you visit our website and some services and functionalities may not work.

Changing your marketing preferences: You may ask us not to process your Personal Information for marketing purposes and can exercise the right at any time by sending us an email here or by clicking on 'unsubscribe' in a the meraki method marketing email. You can choose to have your computer warn you each time a cookie is being sent, or you can choose to turn off all cookies. You do this through your browser settings. Since browser is a little different, look at your browser's Help Menu to learn the correct way to modify your cookies. If you turn cookies off, some of the features that make your site experience more efficient may not function properly.

Third-Party Disclosure

I do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your Personally Identifiable Information.

Occasionally, at my discretion, I may include or offer third-party products or services on my website. These third-party sites have separate and independent privacy policies. I therefore have no responsibility or liability for the content and activities of these linked sites. Nonetheless, I seek to protect the integrity of my site and welcome any feedback about these sites.

It's also important to note that I do not allow third-party behavioral tracking.

California Online Privacy Protection Act

If you are a California resident, California law may provide you with additional rights regarding our use of your personal information. CalOPPA is the first state law in the nation to require commercial websites and online services to post a privacy policy. The law's reach stretches well beyond California to require any person or company in the United States (and conceivably the world) that operates websites collecting Personally Identifiable Information from California consumers to post a conspicuous privacy policy on its website stating exactly the information being collected and those individuals or companies with whom it is being shared. - See more at :: Link

California’s “Shine the Light” law (Civil Code Section § 1798.83) permits users of our Website that are California residents to request certain information regarding our disclosure of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. To make such a request, please contact us.

According to CalOPPA, I agree to the following:

  • Users can visit my site anonymously.

  • Once my Privacy Policy is created, I will add a link in the footer of this website or as a minimum, on the first significant page after entering our website.

  • My Privacy Policy link includes the word 'Privacy' and can easily be found on the page specified above.

You will be notified of any Privacy Policy changes on my Privacy Policy page. You can change your personal information by emailing me. 

Do Not Track Signals

I honor Do Not Track signals and Do Not Track, plant cookies, or use advertising when a Do Not Track (DNT) browser mechanism is in place.

COPPA (Children Online Privacy Protection Act)

Our website is not intended for children under 16 years of age. No one under age 16 may provide any information to the meraki method or on the Website. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you are under 16, do not use or provide any information on this website, through social media, or through any features. If we learn we have collected or received personal information from a child under 16 without verification of parental consent, we will delete that information. If you believe we might have any information from or about a child under 16, please contact us.

When it comes to the collection of personal information from children under the age of 13 years old, the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) puts parents in control. The Federal Trade Commission, United States' consumer protection agency, enforces the COPPA Rule, which spells out what operators of websites and online services must do to protect children's privacy and safety online.

I do not specifically market to children under the age of 13 years old. I don't let third-parties, including ad networks or plug-ins collect PII from children under 13.

Fair Information Practices

If a data breach (leading to the destruction, loss, alteration, unauthorized disclosure of, or access to, your Personal Information) occurs which is likely to result in a high risk of adversely affecting your rights and freedoms, we will inform you of this without undue delay. Where legally permitted, any such notifications will be made either via email, post or telephone. 

The Fair Information Practices Principles form the backbone of privacy law in the United States and the concepts they include have played a significant role in the development of data protection laws around the globe. Understanding the Fair Information Practice Principles and how they should be implemented is critical to comply with the various privacy laws that protect personal information.

In order to be in line with Fair Information Practices I will take the following responsive action, should a data breach occur ::

  • I will notify you via email within 1 business day

  • I will notify the users via in-site notification within 1 business day

I also agree to the Individual Redress Principle which requires that individuals have the right to legally pursue enforceable rights against data collectors and processors who fail to adhere to the law. This principle requires not only that individuals have enforceable rights against data users, but also that individuals have recourse to courts or government agencies to investigate and/or prosecute non-compliance by data processors.

CAN SPAM Act

The CAN-SPAM Act is a law that sets the rules for commercial email, establishes requirements for commercial messages, gives recipients the right to have emails stopped from being sent to them, and spells out tough penalties for violations.

I collect your email address in order to send information, respond to inquiries, and/or other requests or questions. To be in accordance with CANSPAM, I agree to the following:

       Not use false or misleading subjects or email addresses.

       Identify the message as an advertisement in some reasonable way.

       Include the physical address of our business or site headquarters.

       Monitor third-party email marketing services for compliance, if one is used.

       Honor opt-out/unsubscribe requests quickly.

       Allow users to unsubscribe by using the link at the bottom of each email.

If at any time you would like to unsubscribe from receiving future emails, you can follow the instructions at the bottom of each email. We will promptly remove you from ALL correspondence.
